“Almost half of all businesses with skills shortage vacancies lose out to competitors due to a lack of skilled workers.”
From PDM's service offerings in managing disability and accommodations in the workplace and MSD prevention we believe a sound and up to date physical demands analysis (PDA) to be a critical tool which serves as a baseline to:
- Accurately measure an employees' functionality against job demands
- Define the essential duties of the job (depending on the age of the PDA some tasks may have changed but are not captured on paper)
- Zero in on specific physical demands that may yield increased MSD hazards to ergonomically assess the risk of MSD injury by identifying and developing control strategies for MSD hazards
PDM will review current PDA's to orientate PDM to job demands and then conduct onsite PDA's. We will include completion of a MSD Hazard Identification Audit for each job. (assessing tools we use include: strength dynamometer to measure force, pedometer to measure distance walked, calibrated scale to measure weights, tape measure, digital pictures)
